IELTS
English for international opportunity 

IELTS is an English language test that assesses your English language proficiency of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

The University of Cambridge Local Syndicates, the British Council and IDP Education Australia jointly manage this test. There are more than 250 test centers in over 106 countries. This test is not only for education purposes but is also made compulsory for migration to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and other countries.

IELTS tests a complete range of skills commonly encountered by people when studying or when having training in English. The test is divided into two modules Academic and General Training. Both the modules consist of four parts that are listening, reading, writing and speaking. The modules of listening and speaking are same for both Academic and General Training candidates. If you are planning to undertake an education course, you should sit in for the Academic reading and writing modules. If you are planning to undertake non-academic training or require it for immigration purposes, it is recommended that you sit for General Training reading and writing.

IELTS Information

IELTS Application forms can be downloaded from the www.ielts.org or www.aeo.com.pk websites. The IELTS test is regularly administered by AEO Pakistan at their three centres located in Islamabad, Lahore & Karachi. For information about place availability and test dates, please check our IELTS test dates on AEO website or contact us by sending an email to ielts@aeo.com.pk

 

Registration

 

Candidates wishing to register for an IELTS test must submit with their IELTS Application Form the following documents;
(1) Rs.13000/-  Bank draft/payorder  payable to AEO-Pakistan
     
(credit card and cash are not accepted).
(2)A photocopy of their valid National Identity Card or Passport,
(3)
 
two recent passport size photographs with light blue/white back ground
     ( without glasses)
(4 ) Photocopy of your previous IELTS Result (if applicable).


Candidates must write their full name and signature on the reverse of each photograph. One photograph must be pasted securely with glue and the other attached using a paper clip.  (Candidate can come personally to submit their  Application Form or send it  through mail/courier.

 


Note: IELTS Registration fee will be Rs.13000 effective from July 2010


Acknowledgement

 

AEO will issue test date/venue confirmation letter at the time of registration or will dispatch this letter to the candidate by courier/mail. In case of any confusion kindly contact the appropriate AEO office for further clarification. Please note that you must bring your original IDs (passport or national identity card whichever you have mentioned on your Application form (Column 10) on the Test date without original ID documents you will not be allowed to sit for the test.

 

IELTS Specimen Pack and handbook

 

The IELTS Specimen Material Pack includes a full practice IELTS test with an answer key and a CD of the listening test. It assists candidates to get some idea of their level and familiarize themselves with the format of the test. Online practice material is available on the IELTS web site www.ielts.org AEO Examinations Services recommend that candidates study the IELTS Handbook, which can be downloaded from the IELTS web site www.ielts.org

Candidates can also receive a complimentary copy of the "Official Information Booklet" at  the time of  registration [till stocks last]


On Test Day

 

Candidate must arrive for the IELTS test by 11:55am with their original CNIC, Passport & Confirmation Letter. Candidates without original ID documents will not be allowed to take the test and will be marked absent. Candidates who arrive late will not be allowed to sit for the test. No result will be issued to the candidates who are involved in impersonation/ substitution or any act of misconduct. A malpractice report will be circulated to all IELTS Test Centres worldwide. Before taking the test read carefully "Notice to IELTS Candidate” available inside of IELTS application form.

 

Test date transfer/refund policy

 

Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation of their test within 5 weeks of the Test date will be charged the full fee unless they are able to provide appropriate medical evidence or supply valid reason to support their request. Evidence of medical/ valid reason must be provided no later than 5 days after the Test date. An Administrative fee of Rs 3,250/- will be charged for the Test date transfer/ will be deducted from the Test fee refund.

 

 Test Results

 

Results will be produced 13 days after the Test & send by courier to the candidate on the address mentioned on their IELTS Application Form. Candidates may collect their results on the 13th day from the Test centre upon prior request.

 

Test centres are not permitted to give results over the phone or by fax or email. Replacement Test Report Forms are not provided in case of loss.

 

Candidates can request up to 5 copies of their result to be sent to IELTS receiving organizations (Please note TRFs cannot be sent to agents) at no extra charge, if they are detailed on the section 24 of Application Form.

 

Candidates can request to send copies of their TRF to IELTS recoganising organistations (Universities, employers, immigration & Government Offices) any time within the two years period by courier/reg.mail. Within country charges are Rs 500/-, International courier charges are Rs 2000/- & Reg.mail charges are Rs 500/-

 


SMS Facility

 

AEO Test centres are now sending results by SMS to candidates on the 13th day after the Test. You have to sign & mention correct mobile no. on your SMS Consent Form. AEO or IELTS Partners give no guarantee as to the accuracy of all or any such information. You should wait until you receive the official Test Report Form showing your results and make decisions based on that result not on the SMS results.  Neither the Test Centre nor the IELTS Partners will accept any responsibility if your results fail to reach you by SMS.

IELTS TRFs are valid for two years.

 

Retakes

 

If your Test results are not meeting your requirement, you can sit for Test again any time. There is no time bar on it.

 

Enquiry on Results (Re-mark facility)

 

Enquiry on Results is a procedure by which candidates can request to have their papers re-marked. The candidates must apply for a re-mark at their original centres within six weeks of the Test date.Candidates requesting a re-mark of their results must complete an EOR form Enquiry on Result Form ], available from IELTS Centres or Centre’s website. Candidates can apply for a re-mark of all four tests or select the ones they wish to have done. The fee is the same.When applying for EOR the candidate is requested to submit original TRF, EOR Form & Rs 10,000/- Payorder/bankdraft payable to AEO-Pakistan which is EOR processing fee. If a candidate is awarded a higher score than the original, a new Test Report Form(TRF) will be issued by the centre with the new score/s and Examiner number recorded. A full refund of the re-mark fee will be given to the candidate in the event of improved scores.If there is no improvement to the original score, the candidate will be notified. No new TRF will be issued & there will be no refund of the re-mark fee.

 

  

 

A candidate marked absent on the test day will forfeit their full IELTS test fee.
